PAULDING’S REPUBLICAN PARTY UPCOMING MAY MEETING PRESS RELEASE MAY 8, 2017

 The regular monthly meeting of the Paulding Republican Party will be May 20, 2017, at Mt. Tabor Park at 9:00 a.m. This will be the first meeting under the newly elected leadership. The featured speaker will be Rep. Geoff Duncan from Forsyth County who is running for Lt. Governor of Georgia.
Representative Geoff Duncan was first elected to the Georgia House of Representatives in 2012 for the newly formed 26th District. Geoff and his wife Brooke have been married for 19 years and have three sons ages 15, 11 and 6. Their family attends Browns Bridge Community Church which is an affiliate of North Point Community Church. After graduation from Chattahoochee High School in Alpharetta he attended Georgia Tech. Geoff was a scholarship pitcher on the Georgia Tech baseball team and played in the 1994 College World Series. He was later drafted by the Florida Marlins and opted to leave school to pursue his lifelong dream of being a professional baseball player. After playing in the minor league he moved up to AAA, but in 2001 his career was cut short due to an untimely shoulder injury. He and his wife started a home based business merging old fashion customer service with modern technology, which afforded them the opportunity to work with several Fortune 500 companies. Their company grew with sales reps in several states. Four years after starting their company they sold it to a larger Georgia based marketing company. Geoff currently remains active as an entrepreneur with a focus in the venture capital space. Geoff serves on the following House Committees: Ways & Means, Information & Audits, Banks & Banking, Science and Technology, and Interstate Cooperation.
At the end of the meeting we will be leaving to go to East Cobb County to do some door to door campaigning for Karen Handel in the 6th district congressional runoff. Both Geoff and his wife Brooke graduated from Chattahoochee High School in Alpharetta where they first met and both later attended Georgia Tech together. Geoff was a scholarship pitcher on the baseball team at Georgia Tech and proudly played in the 1994 College World Series. After his junior season he was drafted by the Florida Marlins Organization and opted to leave school early to pursue his lifelong dream of being a professional baseball player. Geoff spent the next 6 seasons working his way through the minor league system and eventually reached the AAA level for parts of two seasons. An untimely shoulder injury which resulted in surgery cut his baseball career short in 2001.
After retiring from baseball in 2001 Geoff and his wife Brooke started a small marketing company out their Forsyth County home with a focus on merging old fashion customer service with modern day technology. This unique combination afforded them the opportunity to work with several Fortune 500 companies across the country and their company quickly grew with sales reps in several states. Four years after starting the company, Geoff and Brooke sold it to a larger Georgia based marketing company and moved onto their next challenge.
Geoff currently remains active as an entrepreneur with a focus in the venture capital space. Since being elected to the Georgia House of Representatives in 2012 Rep. Duncan has authored several very important pieces of legislation such as HB749 The Cargo Theft Act, HB152 Michael’s Law and most recently SB258 which is bringing over $250 million to Georgia’s rural hospitals. Rep. Duncan serves on the following House Committees: Ways & Mean, Information & Audits, Banks & Banking, Science and Technology, and Interstate Cooperation.
Fun Facts: Geoff is an instrument rated private pilot, has coached 23 youth sports teams, leads a couples Bible study every week with his wife Brooke.
