The Paulding County Genealogical Society explores the mysterious WWII plane crash in local folklore. Witnesses' accounts faded over time, leaving the crash's details and purpose shrouded in mystery. Speculation of a secret military mission and hushed-up details surrounded the event. Locals sporadically rediscovered the wreckage, keeping the legend alive, but by the 21st century, the incident had largely faded from memory.
Dallas, Georgia, May 27, 2024. At 10:36 AM, a male occupant of a home located at 159 Legend Drive in Dallas, Georgia, called 911 advising that his house was on fire and that his wife, who was disabled, was trapped in a second-story bedroom.
The Paulding County Board of Education has tentatively proposed a 2024 millage rate which will require an increase in property taxes by 3.2 percent.
