Paulding County 4H’ers compete at Cloverleaf District Project Achievement
DALLAS, Ga. - On Jan. 25, Paulding County Cloverleaf 4-H’ers traveled to Georgia Highlands College in Rome, Georgia to compete at District Project Achievement (DPA). There were 11 counties represented at the event and a total of 554 students competed.
Cloverleaf DPA is a public speaking competition where 4th-6th grade students select a topic of interest and give a 5-6 minute informative speech on their chosen subject. DPA helps students improve their public speaking, writing, and presentation skills while learning more about a topic of interest.
Paulding County had 59 student representatives attend this event with 25 of them placing in their program areas. Eight students placed first, six students placed second, and eleven students placed third.
“We are extremely proud of our students! No matter the results, they have learned new life skills, met new friends and gained valuable self-confidence because of this experience” Paulding County 4-H Agent Josie Davis said. The UGA Extension staff of Paulding County wants to thank the parents and guardians who helped support these 4-H’ers as well as the 4-H teen leaders that helped make this engaging and rewarding experience happen. Paulding County 4-H'er participation in Cloverleaf DPA is sponsored by Cobb EMC Community Foundation.
