Keep Paulding Beautiful-2017 Shred Event
The vision of Keep Paulding Beautiful is to create an atmosphere that inspires Paulding County citizens to care for their environment in a way that impacts future generations. Keep Paulding Beautiful desire is to work with Paulding citizens to promote a clean and healthy environment in which to live, work, and play.
Tommy Leonard Executive Director-Keep Paulding Beautiful & Solid Waste/Recycling Manager said “It is essential that we as citizens become stakeholders in our communities to ensure that future generations will have the same valuable resources we enjoy at this time. We must be good stewards to keep our environment clean and safe. This can be accomplished by volunteering, education and leading the way by setting a good example to those we come in contact each day.”
On Saturday, October 7, 2017, Keep Paulding Beautiful along with the City of Hiram and the City of Dallas had its second document shredding event of 2017. With the support of volunteers from organizations like Wells Fargo and the Hiram Police Explorers 4,510lbs of paper was collected to be secured and shred. Combined with a total of 7,229lbs collected earlier this year, that comes to a total of 11,739lbs of waste NOT in our landfill!
Joey Collings who works for the City of Dallas and is on the Keep Paulding Beautiful board of directors said “The vitality of our city and county rely on our willingness to roll up our sleeves and contribute to their health and wellbeing. We strive for positive, social, environmental and economic change. By working together, we can be successful in improving our community.”
