With spring near, our clocks SPRING FORWARD an hour on March 12. Paulding County UGA Extension and their friends will herald spring’s arrival through a series of countywide events. These events are part of a continuous outreach to the community supported by the University of Georgia Extension and Paulding County.
Paulding County Cloverleaf 4-H’ers, competed at District Public Achievement (DPA) at Georgia Highlands College in Rome. This year there were 12 counties represented with 560 competitors. Project Achievement is a public speaking competition.
Wednesday, February 15 th the Paulding Ministerial Association sponsored a prayer rally at the Paulding County Government Complex flagpole. Rev. Johnny McBurrows Chairman of the association extends thanks to everyone for their attendance, with special thanks to District Attorney Dick Donovan and Post Commissioners Todd Pownall and Tony Crowe.
Destination Cure has been involved in Relay for Life since 2007, and we have two main, personal reasons as to why we Relay. By 2009, since several of our loved ones had faced cancer, “Scotty’s Family and Friends” became known as “Destination Cure” because our prayer is for a cure.
Rotary member Chad Plumley introduced our guest, Paulding Superior Court Judge T. David Lyles to warm welcome by fellow Rotarians. Judge Lyles began my thanking the club for the invitation and opportunity to share with members of local community.
This past Saturday, Girl Scout Troop 16123 visited Wellstar Paulding Nursing Center to sang a couple of love songs for the residents in celebration of Valentine’s Day. Local piano teacher, Misty Simmons accompanied the girls on piano.

Rotary Club
With a population in excess of 150,000, Paulding County is able to sustain two (2) Rotary Clubs: Dallas Rotary Club AND Rotary Club of Paulding County.
The Dallas Rotary Club is the newer of the clubs. It was established in 2003 and has 17 active members. This club currently has its regular meetings on Thursday mornings at Audrey’s Cafe. Please check Facebook for schedule.
The Paulding County Rotary Club, the first Rotary Club in Paulding County, was chartered in 1969. It has approximately 42 active members and meets regularly.
Although the clubs are different from one another, the common mission is the same – SERVICE TO COMMUNITY. We invite you to visit each club to determine which is the best fit for you.
