Rep. Tom Graves to Chair Appropriations Subcommittee for Financial Services

tgraves300Washington, D.C. – Rep. Tom Graves (R-GA-14) announced today that he was selected to chair the House Committee on Appropriations’ Financial Services and General Government Subcommittee for the 115th Congress. The influential subcommittee has jurisdiction over the Department of the Treasury, District of Columbia, the Judiciary, the Executive Office of the President and more than 20 Independent Agencies, such as the Federal Communications Commission, Internal Revenue Service and Securities and Exchange Commission.
“I can’t wait to start working with the Trump administration to mop up the mess the Obama administration made of our nation’s financial infrastructure,” said Rep. Graves. “This is a great opportunity to slash harmful regulations, streamline outdated agency processes, and free families and businesses to achieve their dreams. Additionally, with the growing importance of financial technology – or ‘fintech’ – in our 21st Century economy, this assignment puts me in a great position to work on new approaches to cyber security so American businesses and the families who use their services are protected from cyber threats.”
“At the core of all my work on the Committee is the mission to put taxpayers first by finding savings and holding government agencies accountable for every dollar that is spent.”
