Deputy Becky Poynter Retires From the Sheriff’s Office
(Paulding County, GA) On Thursday April 27, 2017 a retirement reception was held in honor of Deputy Becky Poynter at the Paulding County Courthouse. Deputy Poynter began her career in law enforcement with the Paulding County Sheriff’s Office in August of 1996.
She began her career as a Detention Officer in the Sheriff’s Office Detention Center. From there she went to basic mandate training where she became a Georgia P.O.S.T certified peace officer. She then transferred to the Transport Division and eventually on to the Courthouse Security Division where she worked the remainder of her career.
Deputy Poynter worked daily at the Paulding County Courthouse helping to ensure the safety of our citizens, attorneys, and judges. Her hard work ethic and infectious smile will be sorely missed by her co-workers and the citizens she encountered every day.
Deputy Poynter’s law enforcement career has spanned nearly 21 years. During her tenure as a law enforcement officer, she has seen many changes in the profession. We want to wish Deputy Poynter a happy and relaxing retirement. Now she will have plenty of time to enjoy life and spend time with her family.
