Detective Louis Guy Retires From the Sheriff’s Office
(Paulding County, GA) On Friday April 28, 2017 a retirement reception was held in honor of Detective Louis Guy. Detective Guy began his career in law enforcement with the Marietta Police Department in 1972 where he worked until he came to the Paulding County Sheriff’s Office.
He began his career with the Paulding County Sheriff’s Office in April of 1995. During his career with the Sheriff’s Office he worked in the Detention Center as a supervisor, and most notably in the Criminal Investigations Division. Detective Guy was responsible for working the majority of the white collar crime cases as well as any identity fraud cases. While in his capacity as a fraud/white collar crime Detective he worked closely with state and federal law enforcement agencies. Detective Guy also worked elder abuse cases and was even assigned to a Metro-Atlanta Elder Abuse Task Force.
Detective Guy is considered by his peers to be one of the foremost experts in criminal investigations as well as fraud/white collar crime investigations. He has trained countless Detectives over the years and will be missed by his co-workers and the citizens he encountered every day.
Detective Guy’s law enforcement career spanned over 45 years. During his tenure as a law enforcement officer, he has seen many changes in the profession. We want to wish Detective Guy a happy and relaxing retirement. Now he will have plenty of time to enjoy life and spend time with his family.
