Local Linemen win First Place at 34th Annual International Lineman’s Rodeo competition

Journeyman Linemen Team Scotty Lyons, Jeremy Norment, Josh Poston, and Coach Keith McCart from Cobb EMC took home First Place at the 34th Annual International Lineman’s Rodeo on October 14th in Bonner Springs, Kansas. The Team won First Place out of 238 Journeyman Teams.
Lyons, Norment, and Poston won First Place in the following categories:

1. First Place: Journeyman Overall World Champion Journeyman Team (“Best of the Best”)
2. First Place: Overall Journeyman Team Rural Electric Co-op Division
3. Fifth Place: Journeyman Mystery Event #1

The International Rodeo Competition was held on Saturday, October 14th, 2017 in Bonner Springs, Kansas. The event was hosted by Kansas City Power & Light and Westar Energy. More than 1,000 Lineman competed as apprentices or teams during the day-long competition.
