SPHS Construction Technology Concrete Project

South Paulding High School Construction Technology Project The South Paulding Construction Technology class has been working for the past several days forming up for a concrete pour. They are receiving 2 full truckloads of concrete delivered for this project. Friday, February 10, that concrete will form a 150 foot sidewalk and concrete pad for a 10 x 14 gazebo. Our project is for the purpose of an outdoor classroom for the special needs classes here at SPHS.
The students worked hard all day. They poured 20 yards of concrete and I know of a few young men that will be sleeping well tonight. I had a select handful about 10 who had parent and teacher permission and stayed out here with me all day working. I'm very proud of these kids. The pride comes when someday these students will be dropping off and picking up their kids right here at this school. They can look at this job that they did today and tell their kids what they did under the supervision of some grumpy old Marine "back in the day."
