Hiram High School Hosts Stinger Raider Open Challenge
Hiram High School played host to 20 Schools from throughout the Atlanta Metro Area and Alabama on Saturday 21 October for their annual JROTC Stinger Battalion Open Raider Challenge. Forty teams competed in five events designed to test cadet’s strength, agility, speed, stamina, endurance, and teamwork. At the end of the day, North Paulding HS Male and Mixed Teams took overall 1 st place for the meet, with Hiram HS Male 2 nd place and Adairsville HS Male 3 rd place. In the Mixed category, 2nd place went to Alexander HS and 3 rd place to Hiram HS. In the Female category, 1 st place fell to Adairsville HS, 2nd place to Campbell HS and 3 rd place to Osbourne HS. The event also served as the final Area Qualifier for Area 7 schools which includes all of our Paulding County schools. So, as it stands now, the following county schools are sending teams to the State Raider Meet; North Paulding will be sending 2 teams, Hiram 2 teams, and South Paulding 1 team. Congratulations to all competitors and best of luck to those heading to the State championships this coming weekend.
