Each year the Rakestraw family gives a scholarship in memory of Wesley Rakestraw through the Paulding Education Foundation. Welsey was a wonderful father, husband, friend and businessman in Paulding County. His family honors him by presenting a scholarship every year to a student from Paulding County High School.
This year’s Wesley Rakestraw Memorial Scholarship was presented to Miss Taylor Hulsey. Taylor graduated from PCHS and will head to North Georgia college in the fall. She will work toward her degree in Regular/Special Early childhood Education.
Taylor hopes to successfully explain to people how important it is to show extra care towards impoverished children concerning education. Taylor teaches VBS at her church and says that she has wanted to be a teacher as long as she can remember! The Rakestraw family Congratulates Taylor and wishes her much success and happiness.
