South Paulding History

A history making year for South Paulding High School Volleyball! Captains Ali Dorris and Cyndal Littrell lead the Lady Spartans to their first State Playoffs since the opening of the school. Both talked to and encouraged their team as they continued to say all season, “This is our year! We are going to the State Playoffs!” The captains led the team to a regular season record of 17-9- 3 including an Area (Regional) record of 6 – 2. Regional playoffs earned the Lady Spartans 4 th in Area 5 of 6A where they fell to Lake- Side-Evans, who were ranked 8 th in the State for 6A.
The Lady Spartans declare that this year’s team consisting of 3 Seniors, 1 Junior, 3 Sophomores, and 3 Freshman have started a “tradition” which will only be improved on in coming seasons. Coach Moore, Assistant Coaches Skelton and Bryan agreed that “Team Effort” enabled the Lady Spartans to achieve their goal this 2016 season. Junior Varsity Coach Freeman has let it be known that the up and coming group of volleyball players are working hard and are hungry as well as ready for the challenge.
Coach Moore is excited for this year’s accomplishments and will be directing attention to the 2017 season as the 2016 season ends with the team banquet on November 8, 2016. She knows that the three seniors will not be easily replaced but is encouraged by the development of the remaining team and the potential displayed by the JV team this year.
