After weeks of preparation, Hiram High School showcased their newly-designed gym floor at the first home basketball game on Tuesday, November 29. Garrett Sanders, a 2016 alumnus, designed the Hornet in the center while Breanna Bruce, a senior, designed the rest of the floor. Bruce is in her third and final course of the Graphics Design program, taught by Mr. Matthew Raney. Varsity Basketball Head Coach, Darius Hodge, hired her to design the new floor. Working diligently with the Basketball program, she also designed this season’s t-shirts. “Breanna is an outstanding student here at Hiram high school. The basketball program is grateful for her outstanding work,” said Coach Hodge. Breanna Bruce is a hard-working student who has taken advantage of her opportunities at Hiram High School. She has completed a Cosmetology pathway and is a member of Skills USA, a business-oriented club, and HOSA, a healthcare- oriented club. She is also a trainer and a manager for the football and wrestling teams. “We wish her all the best in her future endeavors,” added Coach Hodge. The Hiram Hooligans, the spirited fans who populate the stands at every basketball game, are also very grateful for her hard work. “The new floors make the gym look so big and clean,” stated senior Fernando Ramirez. With the season just getting started, there’s time for everyone to attend a Hiram game and check out the floor. Go Hornets!
