The Pauldng Rotary Club’s Fifth Annual Pigskin preview was held at the Dallas Civic Center. The Paulding Rotary Club is proud to host this meeting of all five Paulding County high schools. The Pigskin Preview is an opportunity to recognize each high schools head football coach as well as several players from each school. Many County and community leaders were in attendance as well as County education administration staff and faculty. Members of the East Paulding High marching band and cheer team were present and helped contribute to the “pep rally” feel. It was evident to everyone present the positive impact Paulding County’s athletic programs are contributing to our future.
Ford Thigpen, Rotary member and event coordinator for the Pigskin Preview was first to the podium. Mr. Thigpen welcomed everyone and thanked them all for their continued support in making this the fifth successful year for the Pigskin Preview. After the warm greeting, Mr. Thigpen recognized East Paulding principal, Mr. Jason Freeman for his help and participation in coordinating the event. All of the coaches representing Paulding County expressed their common belief of passing on knowledge of personal character, teamwork and self-discipline throughout football season. Beyond racial and economic differences that teammates may have, they find common ground working together as a team. This valuable experience can change the course of life. These life-changing lessons were evidenced as Mr. Freeman read personal testimonies of successful individuals in our community today who found leadership and guidance in their high school football coach's example.
