Paulding County Rotary Club Participates in Backpack Program for Paulding Schools

This past Thursday, February 2nd, the Paulding Rotary club participated in the Feeding America Backpack Program. This year we sorted and delivered over 5300 pounds of food to 11 schools in Paulding County. We are glad to join many other churches and organizations that participate in this backpack program on a regular basis. Many children right here in Paulding County need help in the form of easy to prepare food for weekend meals. More than 22 million children receive free or reduced-price meals through the national school lunch program and the national school breakfast program. However, on the weekend those same children still need assistance in having enough to eat. The Paulding County Rotary club sponsors and participates in a variety of activities to help Paulding County residents, but backpack program is something we look forward to and have a lot of fun in helping our community.
