March 7, 2016 celebrates 47 years for the local Paulding County Rotary Club. The Rotary Club here in Paulding County where they meet every Tuesday. In carrying on the tradition of the Rotary Club the Paulding County chapter donates to local groups and organizations such as the 4-H Club, the Paulding County school backpack program, scholarships to the Chattahoochee Technical College (Paulding campus) and more. They are best known locally for the Annual Invitational Christmas Parade held here in Dallas. Upcoming events include the 8th Annual Charity Poker Classic in April and 29th Annual Golf Tournament to be held this October. These charity events are the primary fundraising opportunities for our local Rotary Club. The Rotary Club International also celebrates its 111th year.

Brief History of:
The Rotary Club started when Paul Harris called together a meeting of three business acquaintances in downtown Chicago in 1905. The members shows the name Rotary because initially they rotated subsequent weekly club meetings to each other's offices. Within a year, however the club became so large that they had to adopt the practice of a regular meeting place. In 1922 the name was changed to Rotary International. And by 1925 Rotary had grown to 200 clubs and more than 20,000 members. Now, 111 years later the Rotary club is present in over 200 countries and territories with approximately 1.22 million members worldwide.
