LongHorn Steakhouse culinary team, company’s first-ever Steak Master Series winner Dallas resident Alex Alvarado Negrete
Earlier this year, nearly 6,000 LongHorn Steakhouse culinary team members were invited to enter the company’s first-ever Steak Master Series competition. Thousands competed, but only one walked away with the top prize.
Dallas resident Alex Alvarado Negrete, culinary team member at the LongHorn Steakhouse in Hiram, took home the $10,000 prize after a final “steak-off” and was named the company’s first-ever Steak Master Series winner.
LongHorn Steakhouse created the competition to celebrate the restaurant’s commitment to grilling expertise, to challenge its culinary team members to continuously strive for excellence and to sharpen their skills. It also provided an opportunity to recognize team members in a unique way.
After the regional competition, Negrete continued to achieve high honors and was one of just seven finalists nationwide who traveled to LongHorn Steakhouse headquarters in Orlando, Fla. To compete in front of restaurant executives.
Negrete has worked at LongHorn Steakhouse for eight years. His favorite part about LongHorn is the people he gets to work alongside every day. His culinary expertise and on-the-job training helped him advance his career within the company, and today, he is an expert on all things steak. His favorite menu item to grill is LongHorn’s signature Outlaw Ribeye. You can visit Negrete at the Hiram LongHorn Steakhouse located at 4800 Jimmy Lee Smith Parkway for an expertly grilled steak.
