Wendy Ditzel(Paulding County, GA) On Friday, August 30, 2024, Wendy Ditzel, who is the Sex Offender Registry Coordinator, officially retired from the Paulding County Sheriff’s Office. An official retirement celebration was held in her honor at the Sheriff’s Office cafeteria with Wendy’s family, friends, and co-workers present.
Wendy began her career with the Paulding County government in 1992 when she moved to Georgia from Maryland. During her time in county government, she worked in the following divisions/departments:

  • Paulding County Parks and Recreation
  • Paulding County Extension Office
  • Paulding County Pre-Trial Intervention
  • Paulding County Probation Office
  • Paulding County Sheriff’s Office

Wendy spent the bulk of her career at the Sheriff’s Office where she was loved by everyone. She worked in the Courthouse Security Division, the Juvenile Division, and the Sex Offender Registry Unit as a civilian employee. Wendy spent many years helping make sure Paulding County’s sex offenders were following all of the protocols and were properly registered. Because of Wendy’s hard work and dedication, she helped streamline the unit into what it is today.
During her over 32-year career with the Paulding County government, 18 of that with the Paulding County Sheriff’s Office, she served under two different sheriffs. Wendy will always be known for her exquisite style, her fantastic shoe collection, and her infectious smile.
Sheriff Gary Gulledge stated, “Wendy has been a dependable, hard-working, long-time, and dedicated employee. I am sad to see her retire, but I know she has big plans for the future. I hope she enjoys retirement and gets to relax as much as she wants while spending time with her family.”
Wendy’s career in county government has spanned over 32 years. During her tenure in government, she has seen many changes. We want to wish Wendy Ditzel a happy and relaxing retirement. Now she will have plenty of time to enjoy life and spend time with her family.
