A team of GreyStone Power Corporation linemen placed first overall Saturday, May 7 at the Georgia Lineman’s Rodeo, held at the Camp John Hope FFA-FCCLA Center in Marshallville, Ga.
Four teams of three-person journeyman linemen teams from GreyStone competed in the Georgia Rodeo, with the winning team earning perfect safety scores. Teams were judged first on safety, and then they were ranked according to the speed with which they completed four competition events. The team of Sam Albright, Tony Brown and Matt Williams with coach John Atcheson took the first place spot after competing against 23 other teams from across the state. The team also captured first place in the Electric Membership Cooperative Division and in two mystery events.
Also, Phillip Carroll won third place in the mystery event two in the Apprentice Lineman Division, competing against 45 other apprentices.
