Spring has arrived and it is time to search out good plants at a good price. Each year the Paulding County Master Gardeners have a spring plant sale to give the public an opportunity to collect plants at excellent prices, receive education about those plants and help us fund the many projects in which our Master Gardeners are involved.
East Paulding Lady Raiders destroy a gutsy but overwhelmed Lithia Springs squad 10-0 on Tuesday. East continues to finish their season strong, notching their third consecutive victory and is undefeated in their last four matches.
Helping Hands of Paulding County was alive with activity this past Saturday. Helping Hands was the recipient of Comcast's volunteers' program which is committed to serving local communities by participating in volunteer work for nonprofit organizations. Fresh paint, repairs, and cleaning were taking place thanks to the volunteer work by Comcast employees and their families.

Jessica Moore the Executive Director of McKenna Farms gave everyone an update and progress report. McKenna Farms has been providing therapy since 2001. Over 500 children receive therapy here on a weekly basis. They currently have 25 therapists on staff and a total of 45 employees.
Boys & Girls Clubs of Metro Atlanta recently announced the 2018 lineup for its annual “Power of Words” event. D’Kalyn Morris and I’lasia Brown, young poet, and writers from Paulding have been selected and will be performing their works on stage at the prestigious Woodruff Arts Center. Held Tuesday, April 24, hundreds of community supporters are expected to attend.
Candidates for the May 22 Republican Primary Election include three Paulding races for post commissioner seats. Starting with Post 4, all four candidates were asked to name their top priority once elected or re-elected.

PCFD will be joining more than 100 other fire departments throughout the state of Georgia by participating in the annual "Give Burns the Boot"® drive, benefiting the Georgia Firefighters Burn Foundation. This event will be held on Saturday, May 5th, 12th, and 19th at participating retail stores across Paulding County.
