Barry Atkison, who came on board in March and started earlier this month, is Hiram’s second manager since the city changed its charter in 2012. He had served previously as city manager for Cedartown. Mayor Teresa Philyaw, council members and Atkison met last week to further their discussions regarding the ‘Phase 1’ of the project to create a downtown business overlay district.
The Chattahoochee Tech Foundation honored the recipients of 42 different scholarships at a reception held Tuesday, April 26, at Piedmont Church in Marietta. The 56 winners, who represent a wide variety of the programs offered at Chattahoochee Technical College.
The 65th Annual National Day of Prayer will be observed Thursday, May 5, 2016. The theme for 2016 is "Wake Up America," emphasizing the need for individuals, corporately and individually, to return to the God of our Fathers in reverence for His Holy Name.
The Paulding County girls soccer team traveled to Gainesville and lost in the first round of the state playoffs. The Patriots finished the season with a 17-3 record. Congratulations to the Lady Patriots for a great year.
