The 65th Annual National Day of Prayer will be observed Thursday, May 5, 2016. The theme for 2016 is "Wake Up America," emphasizing the need for individuals, corporately and individually, to return to the God of our Fathers in reverence for His Holy Name.

To highlight the theme, Isaiah 58:1a has been chosen as the Scripture for this year: "Shout it aloud; do not hold back. Raise your voice like a trumpet." At this crucial time for our nation, we can do nothing more important than pray. Dr. Tony Evans, the 2016 Honorary Chairman, has written a special prayer to be simultaneously read throughout the nation at noon (ET). Millions will answer the call to prayer at thousands of public events.

Come join us ON THE HISTORIC SQUARE IN DOWNTOWN DALLAS to pray together as a community for our leaders and our nation. The public is invited to the square THURSDAY, MAY 5, AT NOON. In case of rain the event will be held in the sanctuary of Dallas First United Methodist Church.
