American Legion Post 111 and members of the Paulding County Veterans Memorial Committee held a Veterans Day Service downtown Dallas on Saturday, November 11th at 11:00 AM. The 24th annual service was held in honor of all Veterans living and deceased.

The American Legion recently recognized four veterans for their outstanding volunteerism at Post 111 in Dallas. Those honored were Max Thomas and George Delmar Cook, both U.S. Air Force veterans, Billy Cooper, a U.S. Marine and Harold Thomason, who served in the U.S. Army.
Several visiting dignitaries representing each of the four groups of the American Legion Family presided over the event. Larry Diehl, from the American Legion Department of Georgia and member of the American Legion National Security Commission, installed the new Post 111 Commander.
Saturday, June 3, 2017, the American Legion Riders 5th District of Georgia held their second annual Motorcycle Rodeo. The event, hosted by the American Legion Riders at Post 111 in Dallas, was a motorcycle skills competition.

The American Legion Riders of Post 111 in Dallas were recently gifted an “Eagle of Freedom” statue by Jim “Double Shot” Williams and his wife, Linda Williams. Mr. Williams, a 100% disabled, U.S. Army, Vietnam Veteran, received three honorable discharges, for his service during several periods from 1967 to 1975.
The American Legion Auxiliary Unit 111 in Dallas recently donated $3,000.00 to the Paulding County Sheriff’s Department “Cops for Kids” Christmas shopping event. The program, which pairs Deputies with underprivileged children for a Christmas shopping trip.
