Paulding County Farm Bureau Receives District Award

MACON, Ga. – Paulding County Farm Bureau was recognized for its outstanding member programs during the Georgia Farm Bureau 3rd District annual meeting, held Oct. 2 in Douglasville. Nora Goodman is the PCFB president.
The PCFB Young Farmer Committee, chaired by Tom Liles, received the GFB 3rd District Outstanding Young Farmer Program Award. Among its activities in the past year, the committee put together a legislative forum in April, giving more than 150 students, representing all five Paulding County high schools, an audience with Georgia Agriculture Commissioner Gary Black along with other national, state and local elected officials.
Founded in 1937, Georgia Farm Bureau is the state’s largest general farm organization and has 158 county offices. Its volunteer members actively participate in local, state and national activities that promote agriculture awareness to their non-farming neighbors. GFB offers its members a wide variety of benefits, including insurance, but enrollment in member benefits is optional and not a requirement for membership.
