Kiwanis Club of Paulding County and Abney Elementary School Agrees on Bring Up Grades to Third-Grades Students
An unique approach for responsibility and character.
Dallas, GA - On September 16, the Kiwanis Club of Paulding County met with Principal Scott Brock of Abner Elementary School and agreed to initiate a Kiwanis International program titled Bring Up Grades (BUG) for all third-grade classes at Dallas, Georgia, starting in January 2017.
BUG is a program designed to provide recognition to students who raise their grades and maintain or continue to raise them from one grading period to the next. Recognition includes being placed on the school’s BUG Honor Roll; a pizza, ice cream or other food-themed party; and presentation of certificates and buttons.
Principal Brock from Abney Elementary, lead coordinator and Kiwanis Club of Paulding County member Robert Girau, President Phyllis Silverman and Club Opener Herb Silverman, examined and agreed on all of the particulars to make this a strong and energetic opportunity.Mr. Girau commented, "This is a terrific beginning for our new Bring Up Grades program in Paulding County. We are so grateful and enthusiastic to make a difference and we appreciate Principal Brock, the teachers and students of Abney Elementary School for this partnership of excellence."
