They haven’t been bitten by a radioactive spider, and they aren’t from another planet, but the cheerleaders of Paulding County High School have still transformed into superheroes for the day. As a part of Cape Day to support Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta, they began a coin drive to raise money to help children fighting illnesses, and on October 21, came to school dressed in their superhero capes. Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta created Cape Day as an annual tradition to raise awareness and money for young superheroes battling illnesses and maladies, and ever since, many schools and organizations have gotten involved to help make a difference in these kids’ lives, including the Paulding County High School cheerleaders. By Friday, they raised a total of $395.80 for Children's Healthcare of Atlanta. Thanks to these superheroes and others like them, young children can keep fighting off their villains as researchers continue looking for a cure.
