Hiram Elementary School held its annual Title I Family Reading Night on Tuesday, December 6. The Reading Night included reading activities for the students to participate in. Students turned in projects for a Reading Fair. The students created a display board for a book of their choice. These were displayed and voted on by those that attended the reading night. Winners received a special prize. There were many wonderful entries to choose from. Families were able to get their picture made with Santa. There was a book swap in which staff and students had sent in books for everyone to choose from that night. Local community helpers read to the students in classrooms. Firefighters from the Paulding County Fire and Rescue units were there. Sheriff Gary Gulledge and Deputy Rodney Mitchell were some of the great readers that attended. Booths were set up by School Box and representatives from Maude P. Ragsdale Public Library. All activities were free to all who attended. It was a wonderful night to celebrate the love of reading!
