Paulding County Patriots gave a valiant effort against East Paulding. The game tying extra point with 7 seconds remaining went left giving the Raiders one last win for the year 28 to 27.
While the Patriots’ Brantley Mauldin was first to score, The Raider’s led the game in the first half with 3 TD to the Patriots 1. Dylan Prater ran in for two of the Raider’s touch downs and passed 16 yards to Jalen Browder for the third.
On returning to the field, Tanner Hambrick intercepted the ball and Vance Anderson ran in a 31 TD on the next Patriot play. The Raiders’ final TD came from a 29 pass to Shaun Ford. Despite a 14 point deficient going into the 4thquarter, The Patriots still came up with two more TD, both completed passes from Brantley Mauldin to Jason Ledford. With 7 seconds left on the clock, the Patriots threats to send the game into overtime failed when the extra point went left. The Patriots also missed a field goal in the third quarter.
Both teams ended the season with a 4-6 record.
