LADY PATRIOTS FALL IN ROUND 2
The Paulding County Patriots ladies soccer team was eliminated from the State playoffs in round 2 by a scrappy club from Starr's Mill by a score of 2-0 at Dave Hardin Stadium. The loss brings to a close a record breaking season for the Patriots as they captured their first region title and advanced through round one for the first time in school history.
The second round matchup against Starr's Mill was a struggle for the Patriots as the opposition played a very tough defense not allowing the Patriots to penetrate a staunch midfield and back line. Starr's Mill kept the Patriot offense at bay and kept the pressure on the offensive end as well threatening the defense throughout the match. To the Patriots credit they were able to diffuse many of the threats until the Lady Panthers tallied a goal with 10 minutes to play in the first half. The Lady Panthers scored again early in the second half securing the victory.
Congratulations to the Patriots on a wonderful season and to the coaching staff. It was a pleasure to cover them on their record breaking run.
