Lady Patriots Claim Playoff

The Paulding County Lady Patriots claimed the 4th seed in the tough region 7(5A) with a hard-fought 2 nil victory over the Hiram Hornets to close out region play. The Lady Patriots will travel to the Region 6 champions pitch to play the opening round of the state playoffs. The Lady Patriots finished the region with a 5-3 mark and punched their ticket with a key victory over Rome High School which garnered the #2 seed in the region. The team they will face was yet to be determined at press time. Fitzgeralds return to the lineup following wrist surgery has been a catalyst for the Patriots and helped them return to the State playoffs after missing in 2018. Paulding County's Alexandria Sarabia blasts a long pass to the wing for the Patriots. Sarabia netted the first goal for the Patriots in a must-win game. Hiram's Amaya Dixon pushes the ball downfield against the Patriots. Dixon broke through on several occasions and had many shots on goal that narrowly missed the mark. The Hornets played the Patriots tough on their home turf.
