Brett Whritenour(Paulding County, GA) The Paulding County Sheriff's Office is proud to announce that Sergeant Brett Whritenour has been appointed to the Georgia Sheriffs’ Association Sex Offender Registration Task Force (SORTF). This esteemed appointment is a testament to Sergeant Whritenour’s dedicated service and expertise in managing the sex offender registry for the past 11 years at the Paulding County Sheriff’s Office.
Sergeant Whritenour, who has been a stalwart of the Paulding County Sheriff's Office for over 20 years, has seen the sex offender registry grow from 110 offenders to approximately 250. His diligent efforts in this critical area of law enforcement have not gone unnoticed.
In addition to managing the sex offender registry, Sergeant Whritenour has an exemplary service record with the Paulding County Sheriff’s Office. He was honored as Deputy of the Year in 2019 and served on the SWAT team for 11 years. Furthermore, his commitment to the community is demonstrated by his 9 years of dedicated service on the Sheriff’s Office Honor Guard unit.
Sheriff Gulledge expressed his confidence in Sergeant Whritenour's capabilities by stating, “Sergeant Whritenour’s appointment to the Georgia Sheriffs’ Association SORTF is a well-deserved recognition of his hard work, dedication, and knowledge of the Georgia Sex Offender Registry.
