As Memorial Day approaches we wanted to remember heroes in our community. We wanted to highlight two brothers, James E. Miller and Arnold Miller. A story was originally ran in The Dallas New Era on December 20, 1945.

U.S. Air Force Airman 1st Class Cade M. Fairfax graduated from basic military training at Joint Base San Antonio-Lackland, San Antonio, Texas. Fairfax is the son of Karen and Richard Fairfax of Hiram, Ga.

Congratulations to James Steele III who was awarded the 7th annual Zachary Williamson Memorial Scholarship. James (Tripp) is a senior graduating this year from North Paulding High Schools Class of 2017 in Paulding County, GA.

Savannah College of Art and Design (SCAD) just announced that Kelsey Hawkinson, a Dallas, GA native and current SCAD student, received a first place honor at the annual SCAD Sidewalk Arts Festival. In it's 36th year, the festival transforms a park into an outdoor gallery with hundreds of hand-chalked sidewalk squares.
