Paulding Economic Development Executive Director Robert Reynolds will helm the Industrial Building Authority (IBA) for the foreseeable future, as voted by its board in their February meeting. Funding for a full-time person in the position is not currently an option available to the IBA, according to Post 2 Commissioner Todd Pownall.
The South Paulding Spartans boys basketball teams bid for a state title came to an end Wednesday night as they fell to their counterpart from Cobb county by a score of 40-37. The South Cobb Eagles team from Austell came to Paulding and advanced to the final four with a victory over the #1 ranked Spartans.

GHC’s faculty have been working since Fall 2015 to expand Open Education Resources (OER) courses each semester. Almost half a million dollars’ worth of student savings was yielded the first semester alone.To date, GHC has saved students $3,843,664 in textbook costs.

Jamion “J.J.” Simpson has been named the GCAA Division I Men’s Player of the Week for Feb. 20-26. Simpson’s play helped the Golden Eagles to two conference wins in three games in that span as he averaged 23 points, 4.8 rebounds, 4.3 assists and 2.3 steals per contest.
The South Paulding boys basketball team are still alive in the State playoffs. South Paulding won a thriller against Coffee County 90-82 to advance to the 3rd round. The boys representing the school on Winn road have done just that win,win,win.
