Paulding’s Board of Commissioners wrapped up their January sessions last week, and approved several agenda items, including two items tied to the construction of the Richland Creek Reservoir project.

Spartan Seniors Ja Cori Wilson and Kane Williams were honored before the Alexander game for their accomplishments on the court.

The BBQ Dudes of Burnt Hickory and The New Hope Q Crew hosted a fundraiser at the town of Ynot on January 28, 2017. Funds raised were for New Hope Memorial Flight 242, Inc. to help raise funds to build a monument in New Hope to preserve the memory of 72 lives lost and to honor the 21 survivors.

Airport Chairman Calvin Thompson announced his resignation at the final 2016 regular meeting of the Paulding County Airport Authority (PCAA) in December.

These students have perfect attendance coming to school All Day Every Day for 100 days! This is a great accomplishment and we are so proud of these students!

Upon admission to the hospital, patients receive a touchscreen tablet where they can view test results, medications, labs, vital signs and daily treatment schedules. Currently in pilot phase at Paulding Hospital, MyChart Bedside will be available across WellStar’s Epic-based hospitals by May 2017.

The South Paulding High School swim team completed their fifth season on Saturday, January 28th at the Rockin' Relays Meet at the Cumming Aquatic Center.

Paulding County’s Chamber of Commerce hosted their 56th Annual Awards event in Cartersville last week. Paulding’s business leaders were recognized for their accomplishments in the community during the past year. This year the awards also acknowledged those who’ve had a long term impact on Paulding County with a Hall of Fame award and another for Lifetime Achievement.

The East Paulding Swim Team just finished its 5th season. Our team has grown every year since the program’s created and we reached our growth limit this year of 30 total swimmers.
