The Paulding Chamber of Commerce announces a community partnership to provide face shields to medical personnel at Wellstar Paulding Hospital during the COVID- 19 pandemic.

Without a doubt, the Medical Technologist is more than receiving a blood sample. They are the health professionals who, through laboratory techniques, provide important scientific information to the doctor for use in the diagnosis, treatment, control or prevention of diseases.

Any Northwest Georgian with symptoms of Coronavirus disease (COVID-19), such as fever, dry cough, or shortness of breath, may receive free testing provided by public health at one of four sites in Bartow, Floyd, Paulding, and Walker counties.

Physical Therapist Assistant Ashley Moore, who was in the first PTA graduating class at Chattahoochee Technical College 11 years ago, remains hard at work with her colleagues at a skilled nursing facility in Cobb County during the global COVID-19 coronavirus pandemic.

After 32 years of dedicated service, Firefighter Apparatus Operator (FAO) & EMT Don Copeland retired today, (April 3, 2020). Beginning in 1988, even before Paulding County organized its Fire Department, Copeland served as a volunteer. In 1997 he was hired as one of PCFD’s first full-time firefighters and has dedicated his entire career to Paulding County Fire & Rescue ever since.

I am a Girl Scout in Paulding County and I am conducting a school supply project to earn my Gold Award. My project will target low-income students in Paulding County and impoverished children in parts of Africa. The goal is to provide supplies to 100 students in our area so teachers don't have to.

Paulding County Fire & Rescue (PCFD) has been named the 2020 “EMS Service of the Year” by the State of Georgia Office of EMS & Trauma - Region I. PCFD is the first-ever agency licensed at the first responder level to win this prestigious award.

Chattahoochee Technical College graduates from the college’s Clinical Laboratory Technology program are factoring into the fight against the coronavirus COVID-19. “We currently have graduates who are working in Cobb and Cherokee County hospital clinical laboratories as part of the team testing for the COVID-19 virus,” said Robin Aiken, who has served for the past eight years as program director for the Chattahoochee Tech Clinical Laboratory Technology program.

Paulding County’s police, emergency services, and coroner’s office are now aided by the addition of something they haven’t had until now – a county morgue. Situated in a secure location on the Watson Government campus behind the courthouse, the facility has officially opened.
