Paulding County Farm Bureau received two awards during the Georgia Farm Bureau 3rd District annual meeting, held Sept. 18 in Douglasville. Nora Goodman is the PCFB president.

Rep. Tom Graves (R-GA-14) today voted for and the House passed the Department of Defense and Labor, Health and Human Services, and Education Appropriations Act (H.R. 6157). The bill provides annual funding for the Department of Defense, Department of Health and Human Services, Department of Labor and Department of Education. The bill will now head to President Trump’s desk.

This past Monday, September 17, the Union Braves played against the Dallas Blue Hornets. The game was held at Union Park. Union Recreation has sought to provide a baseball program for children between the ages of 4 to 18 years old, having mental and/or physical disabilities the opportunity for a baseball program.

Patriots hit the road again last Friday night and traveled to Villa Rica to try to scratch the win column for the first time this season. When the final horn echoed the trip to the "City of Gold" proved unprofitable as the Patriots fell to the Wildcats 28-3 on a hot muggy night.

The display featuring the U.S. Constitution, visible as you entered the Dallas Public Library, was placed there by the Edward Hagin Chapter of the National Society, Daughter of the American Revolution. This patriotic display was in celebration of Constitution Week, September 17th-23rd.

Dec.of 2017 the Paulding Sheriff’s Office Crimes Against Children Division was alerted to a possible child molestation situation that occurred in Paulding County. On Sept.8, 2018 Daniel Allen Martin pled guilty in Paulding County Superior Court two counts of Aggravated Child Molestation and one count of Possession of Child Pornography. Martin received a life sentence for his conviction.

Congratulations to Dallas resident, Fallon Robinson, who was crowned Miss Stone Mountain 2019 on Saturday, September 8th, 2018. Fallon competed in Interview, On-Stage Question, Lifestyle, and Fitness, Evening Wear and Talent.

Paulding County launched its drug court program in January 2016. Our Circuit was one of the “hold-outs.” Some in the county did not like the idea of an accountability court. Deputy sheriff, Clint Barker was on the front lines of that skepticism. He took the questions, and sometimes the ridicule, from others. Clint welcomed this as his opportunity to change minds, and change minds he has.

East Paulding Raiders team raced at Allatoona Creek at the Big Peach Mustang Stampede against 20 teams. This was the first week that East was paired up in a race with other county teams during this 2018 season.
