Paulding Rotary Club President Ford Thigpen welcomed Ashleigh Headrick from the Georgia Office of the Attorney General. Mrs. Headrick works in the Criminal Justice Division, Post-conviction Section. Introduced by club member and husband Brian Headrick, Mrs. Headrick began her presentation.
CAYA Ministries has become close friends with all of us at Paulding Enterprises. Two times monthly, Paulding Enterprises volunteers at CAYA, helping them sort clothes and food for those in need. CAYA was so nice to invite us to a luncheon with all CAYA workers. CAYA is another wonderful outreach within the Dallas area. Helping families in need with food, clothes, and other needed items.
Patriot junior Kevin Brown scores a successful 3 pointer in the 80-72 victory over North Paulding. The Patriots won 3 more games last week against non-region foes bringing their record to 10-1 and ranked #4 in the state by Max Preps.
The Hiram Elementary School 5th grade Beta Club members are definitely feeling the spirit of giving this holiday season. They decided they wanted to help a local organization, Helping Hands, with items they may need to help those in need.

The Paulding County Sheriff's Office will hold their 20th Annual Cops for Kids Christmas shopping event on December 15, 2018, at 6:30 AM. As usual, this year’s event will take place at the Dallas Walmart on Marietta Highway (3615 Marietta Hwy. Dallas, GA 30157).
Washington, D.C. – Rep. Tom Graves (R-GA-14) today voted for and the House passed the Conference Report to Accompany the Agriculture Improvement Act (H.R. 2) – commonly referred to as the Farm Bill. This legislation, which addresses differences between the House and Senate’s previously-passed versions of the bill, sets policy for agriculture and nutrition programs for the next five years.
Paulding County Airport Authority voted during their December session held last week not to renew the lease for primary tenant Silver Comet Terminal Partners (SCTP). The firm filed a complaint in U.S. District Court last month in response to the PCAA’s recent move to establish an aviation academy at Silver Comet Field, which was announced by Governor Nathan Deal in October.
Mrs. Burks was excited to address Rotary club members once again. She thanked everyone for the continued support. Mrs. Burks highlighted the growth that Helping Hands has experienced since its beginnings in 1987. Started by five churches approximately 31 years ago, Helping Hands has been able to provide 6,000 families with basic food needs (as of October 2018) this year. By the end of this year Helping Hands of Paulding County will have distributed over 1 million pounds of food to local residents.
