Kennesaw state played their last regular season home game against the visiting Campbell Camels this past Saturday at 5th / 3rd bank stadium with a dominating win 49-0. The Owls led with South Paulding’s own Chandler Burks and North Paulding's Jace White.

The Association County Commissioners of Georgia, ACCG or Georgia’s County Association, recently presented county officials with their certificates for the completion of their continuing education requirements within the ACCG Lifelong Learning Academy. Recipients were recognized for their accomplishments during the 2018 Legislative Leadership Conference (LLC) in Glynn County, GA. Ron Davis was one of many county officials who received recognition during the conference.
Paulding’s Chamber of Commerce hosted their November Georgia Power Luncheon in Dallas last week. WellStar President John Kueven was the keynote speaker. Kueven, a veteran hospital administrator, took over at WellStar Paulding Hospital in March as senior vice president and president of WellStar Paulding Hospital. Kueven oversees the day-to-day operations of the 112-bed hospital facility in Hiram and 182-bed skilled nursing center in Dallas.
The origin of the term “Gold Star” can be traced back to World War I where it became practice for families with those serving in the military to place a service flag in a visible window of their home. The flags, which hang vertically, have a white rectangular center surrounded by a thick red border.
The South Paulding Spartans end the season with a loss to the 5AAAAAA region champions Creekside Seminoles. The Spartans started the game strong with an opening drive to take the lead 7-0. The Seminoles would counter back with a score of their own and never look back. The Spartans struggled the rest of the game to get anything going on the offense with Creekside’s defense dominating the game.
Conservatives living in Georgia have a new kind of neighbor. Every day, thousands of people living on the liberal coasts are throwing their hands up and leaving their home states for greener pastures. Conservative states like Georgia offer everything that states like California and New York cannot: low taxes, economic mobility, affordable housing, fewer barriers to starting your own business, safer neighborhoods and a more trustworthy government.
Cold and rainy conditions made for a bleak first-quarter as the Longhorns stacked up a considerable lead over the Hornets. Hiram rallied in the third and fourth quarters of the game, defending against any further Kell scores. The final score was Longhorns 30 to Hornets 0. Regardless of the final score, both teams played hard despite the conditions.
Although Paulding County has experienced great growth over the past years, we still have that small hometown culture. For me, that hometown feeling is important and something I want to see continue for my children. Being a part of this culture gives me an advantage in servicing our members because I can relate to their history and everyday lives to determine what their needs are and ways I can help make their lives better.
