New Georgia Elementary bus drivers and monitors, and those all over the county are AWESOME!! Principal Sonja Nelson and Assistant Principal Andy Davis presented the drivers with a basket of goodies in honor of Bus Driver Appreciation Day.
A flock of pink flamingos will be roosting on the front lawn of South Paulding High School's football stadium for our Pink Out game on October 27th. The flamingos are available for “adoption” for a small fee to help raise awareness of breast cancer and to raise funds to support breast-cancer care in our area.

Dallas resident, Fallon Robinson, was crowned Miss Paulding County’s Outstanding Teen 2018 this past Saturday, September 23 rd , 2017. This was the 3 rd Annual Miss Paulding County Pageant, which is part of the Miss America Organization.
Hiram Cares is a program established by Hiram High School to address needs of the community and our Hiram family. This program has given funds to support families impacted by fire, floods, and other disasters. In early September, students from Hiram High School showed that Hiram Cares for Houston in support of those affected by Hurricane Harvey.
Hiram Elementary celebrated a Week of Giving! The HES families brought in donations for families that were affected by the hurricanes and other families in need. Students and families brought in items that would help ease the loss of families.
Georgia Highlands College’s nursing program was ranked as the “#1 Most Affordable Nursing Degree in Georgia” by College Choice. This follows the program’s recent inclusion in GeriatricNursing.org’s article called ““30 Most Affordable Nursing Degree Programs,” and in 2015, being ranked second on a list of the 30 most affordable online RN-BSN degree programs in the nation put out by Great Value Colleges.
New Georgia Elementary in Paulding County, GA has been awarded a $3,000 Georgia Shape school health grant. Georgia Shape, Governor Nathan Deal’s Childhood Obesity Initiative, recently announced grants to 26 schools, including New GA, totaling $116,000 for the 2017-2018 school year.
Hiram High School Career and Technical Instruction (CTI) student organization elected officers for the 2017-18 school year. The officers are Azavian Joiner, President; Timothy Thurner, Vice President; and Micheal Minyard, Secretary.

The Paulding County Patriots volleyball team recently honored the out going seniors from the class of 2018. The Patriots hosted the Pepperell Dragons from Lindale and the Patriots came away with their first victory on the season.
