WellStar Paulding Nursing & Rehabilitation Center and Home Depot’s associate-led volunteer force, Team Depot, collaborated to honor veterans and service members who have passed away.

The Paulding Chamber of Commerce continued its tradition of honoring local public safety officials for their outstanding service at our Georgia Power Luncheon. Featured award presentations went to individuals from the Paulding County Sheriff and Fire Departments, Marshall’s Bureau, District Attorney’s Office, E911 Center, the City of Dallas Police Department, the City of Hiram Police Department and Metro Atlanta Ambulance Service.

The South Paulding Spartans take the field against a very tough Alexander team this past Friday night. The Spartans showed promise in a 48-12 loss to the Cougars.

September 6, 2017, the Mayor of Hiram, Teresa Philyaw, presented a proclamation declaring the week of September 4 through 8, International Literacy Week to the students in the Paulding Adult Education Program. September 8, 2017, is International Literacy Day worldwide.

Joyce Walraven generously donated one of her most valued paintings to the Maude P. Ragsdale Public Library in Hiram. Joyce is well known for her paintings of places of interest and historical significance in Paulding County.

In addition to local storm preparations, several Paulding County Fire & Rescue personnel are part of the multi-agency Georgia Search and Rescue team (GSAR-6). GSAR was activated Sunday afternoon and deployed to a staging area in Central Georgia where they currently await further orders.

Georgia Highlands College kicked off another academic year by honoring its faculty and staff from each of its campuses for the 2016-2017 academic year at its annual in-service meeting.
