The New Georgia Library, with help from some AWESOME volunteers, has started a Homework Helpers Group for kids that might need a little extra help and encouragement with their after school worksheets and projects! This FREE group is open to ALL elementary aged students K-5, whether they go to a public school or are homeschooled!
September 11, 2016, the Paulding County Sheriff's Office and the Paulding County Fire Department will hold a ceremony at Mt. Tabor Park (at the 9-11 memorial site) honoring the men and women who gave their lives to help others on one unforgettable day, 9/11/2001. The ceremony will take place at the 9/11 memorial site at Mt. Tabor Park located at 1550 East Paulding Drive Dallas, GA 30157. The ceremony will begin promptly at 8:40 a.m.
The Dallas New Era and Charles Hardy have had a lifelong relationship. When we heard the passing of Mr. Hardy, we started searching our archives and realized he was a constant in our newspaper. Not only from a business aspect, but from his civic contributions to our beloved community.
The Kiwanis Club of Paulding County is joining forces with Kiwanis members across the globe in an effort to eliminate maternal and neonatal tetanus (MNT), a painful disease that kills one baby every eleven minutes, or about 134 newborns each day.
It’s back-to-school time for Chattahoochee Technical College students, and the fall semester is off to a strong start. Classes are back in session and Chattahoochee Technical College is seeing an uptick in its enrollment numbers with more than 10,500 students registered for the 16-week fall semester. On the first day of the term, the college also saw a record-high 1,027 participants in its Move on When Ready program.
Consolidated Acoustical & Drywall, Inc., a local business, showed their support to the Paulding County Sheriff’s Explorer program recently with a $2,500 donation to the program. The Explorer program provides a community service organization for youth between the ages of 14 and 21 interested in a law enforcement career.
Georgia Interscholastic Cycling League (GA League) middle schoolers, Seth Barker and quadruplet sisters, Aset, Selket, Neith and Nebthet Reid-el, have all been riding the practice trails this summer on bikes loaned to them as part of the GA League Bike Loaner Program.
