The Hiram High School Stinger Battalion hosted its annual Hornet Invitational Drill Meet on Saturday, 26 Jan 2019. Twenty-five teams from throughout the Atlanta metro area competed in 10 different events. The Stingers finished strong with two Second place wins in the female unarmed squad and male/mix unarmed platoon.
U.S. Air Force Airman 1st Class James T. Cole graduated from basic military training at Joint Base San Antonio-Lackland, San Antonio, Texas. Cole is the son of Dallas residents William Cole and Lisa Duvall and a 2017 graduate of East Paulding High School.
Hiram High School CTI (Career & Technical Instruction) members participated in the annual school-wide Hiram Difference event which was held on December 7 for the Kindergarten students from Panter Elementary.

Chattahoochee Technical College students celebrated their graduation from the state’s largest technical college during two commencement ceremonies held on Thursday, Dec. 13, at the Clarence Brown Conference Center in Cartersville. The college awarded associate degrees, diplomas and technical certificates of credits this semester to nearly 1,000 students.
Hiram High School CTI (Career & Technical Instruction) students attended the annual Georgia CTI Fall Leadership Conference at the Renaissance Waverly in Atlanta, Georgia on November 15-16.
Brothers, Blake and Caleb Edwards of the North Paulding High School Bass Team, placed 3rd in the Jr Division with 10.33 lbs on Lake Chatuge in Hiawassee Georgia this past month. They won a plaque and a fishing reel. It was a tough tournament but thankfully they found the fish. They have now earned a spot in the State Classic in June.
There are four Paulding County Schools that are participating in Trout Unlimited's "Trout In the Classroom" program. Students raise trout from eggs to fingerlings in mini-trout hatcheries. During this time students learn about the life cycles of cold water fish and threats that they are under from pollution, climate change, and loss of habitat.
East Paulding High School's Marketing Pathway went through the process of becoming Industry Certified. Students from the Marketing Management Pathway presented information based on the Marketing Pathway, DECA Chapter, Project-Based Assignments, Curriculum-Based Projects, School-Based Enterprises to the Industry Certification Team.
Chattahoochee Technical College celebrated this year’s Veterans Day with an appreciation event at the college’s North Metro Campus featuring Vietnam Veteran Donna Rowe of Cobb County as the keynote speaker. Rowe noted the significance of U.S. Veterans who have served throughout history and described her service as a U.S. Army Nurse in charge of triage and ER medicine in the war zone of Vietnam.
