Patriots hit the road again last Friday night and traveled to Villa Rica to try to scratch the win column for the first time this season. When the final horn echoed the trip to the "City of Gold" proved unprofitable as the Patriots fell to the Wildcats 28-3 on a hot muggy night.
East Paulding Raiders team raced at Allatoona Creek at the Big Peach Mustang Stampede against 20 teams. This was the first week that East was paired up in a race with other county teams during this 2018 season.
East Paulding Raiders beat AJC ranked #7 Kell Longhorns last Friday in a narrow victory. Kell’s short 3 points field goal lead was eclipsed by East TD on their 1st possession and held a lead until the 4th quarter by as much as 13 points.
South Paulding Spartans hosted the Douglasville Tigers this past Friday. The Spartans took the field with a mission in mind, “Do not give up”. The Spartans held their own against the strong Douglasville Tigers the entire game. However, the Tigers were able to capitalize on a fumble from the Spartans and retained the lead for the win.
Hiram High School CTI (Career and Technical Instruction) student organization elected officers for the 2018-19 school year. The officers are Mario Leone, President; Daniel Hamilton, Vice President; and Tate Kirby, Secretary.
The Paulding County Patriots took to the road and traveled to Cartersville to play the undefeated Woodland Wildcats last Friday night. The Patriots played well and almost collected their first win of the season and nearly spoiled the Wildcats homecoming plans.
The North Paulding Wolfpack traveled to Spartan country and downed the Spartans 4-1 in a non-region match-up last week. Both squads are having good seasons thus far and are likely to be playoff bound at seasons end. South Paulding is 4-0 and tied for first place in their region.
Abney Elementary teacher, Jodie Henson, is getting much closer to reaching the goal of raising $15,000 to purchase tablets, keyboards, cases, and stylus, “technology kits” for the students in her classroom thanks to donations from sponsors such as Depew Orthodontics. The purpose of this technology initiative is for the students in Mrs. Henson’s class to use technology on a daily basis to enhance daily classroom experiences.
The Paulding County Patriots suffered a stinging loss at the hands of the Hiram Hornets on Friday at Dave Harden stadium in Dallas by a score of 21-17. The Hornets are off this week and resume action next against Woodland. The Patriots will travel to Cartersville this week to play the same Woodland squad.
The first official rankings came out on 9/4 for the 2018 Cross Country season. The Lady Raiders are ranked 6th in 5A and the boys are on the watch list. This is the highest ranking for girls in the past few years, and for the boys this is a decent ranking because they have not ran a full squad this season. Saturday of the Labor Day weekend, the Raiders raced at Heritage Christian Church for the Starrs Mill Invite. The meet hosted over 20 teams, including multiple that are currently ranked in the top 10 of their class.
Paulding County Sheriff Gary Gulledge is hosting the 15th Annual Lamar Hunton Memorial Motorcycle Ride and 2nd Annual Jeep Show and Shine to benefit GA Sheriffs’ Youth Homes on September 22, 2018. The motorcycle ride will begin registration at 8:30 a.m. and the Jeep Show and Shine registration will begin at 11:00 a.m. Lunch will be provided along with door prize drawings.
The Chattahoochee Technical College Paulding Engagement Team organized a breakfast on Thursday, Aug. 30, at the college’s Paulding Campus for nearly 100 students currently enrolled in the Chattahoochee Tech Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) program.
NPHS students in Mr. Tumlin's AP Environmental Science classes paddled down the Etowah River. They call themselves the "AP River Rats". Students observed numerous species of birds, mammals, and reptiles.
Raiders lose in final seconds 16-21. An end zone pass to the Knights #44 gives them the lead with only 4 seconds left on the clock leaving no time for the Raider’s to score again. East will play North next week at North.
