House passed the Financial Institution Customer Protection Act (H.R. 2706), bipartisan legislation prohibiting the Department of Justice and federal banking regulators from forcing financial institutions to terminate customer accounts for political reasons.

Chattahoochee Technical College was designated on Dec. 15 as one of the nation’s top Military Friendly® Schools by Victory Media, the publisher of G.I. Jobs magazine. The Military Friendly Schools designation is based on extensive research using public data sources for more than 8,800 schools nationwide.
Paulding County Board of Commissioners last week approved George Jones to be Paulding’s DOT Director by a 5-0 vote during the board’s final 2017 regular session. Last week’s session was the final regular meeting of the BoC for 2017. The BoC will reconvene on the second Tuesday in January.
Reps. Tom Graves (R-GA-14) and Brendan F. Boyle (D-PA-13) today introduced the Procure PGMS for Israel Act (H.R. 4707), which would authorize the Department of Defense to add precision-guided munitions into the United States’ War Reserve Stockpile in Israel, enabling it to transfer the high-tech weaponry to Israel in the event of a conflict.
The fifth graders at Abney recently graduated from the D.A.R.E. program sponsored by the Paulding County Sheriff’s Office. D.A.R.E. stands for Drug Abuse Resistance Education.

NPHS, EPHS, and PCHS released trout fingerlings they had raised from eggs. It was the culminating activity to a program called "Trout In the Classroom" (TIC) which is sponsored by the Cohutta Chapter of Trout Unlimited.
