Shepherd's Rest Ministries has been very blessed each Christmas through the years to have the love and wonderful support of the Paulding Wellstar Hospital Auxillary Volunteers to help provide for needs at the battered women's shelter. This group of volunteers, under the leadership of Tammy Walker, who manages volunteer services at the hospital.

House passed the Conference Report to Accompany the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act (H.R. 1), which is the final version of legislation to cut taxes for families and businesses and create more American jobs. This legislation worked out differences between the previously-passed House and Senate versions of the bill.
Chattahoochee Technical College honored 546 students from the state’s largest technical college during a commencement ceremony held Thursday, Dec. 14, at the Clarence Brown Conference Center in Cartersville. Representing students from the fall semester, 197 graduates from the college’s six-county service area walked across the stage to receive a technical certificate of credit, diploma or an Associate of Applied Science degree.
This is the 3rd consecutive year Hardy has donated $10,000 but was the first year Hardy partnered with the community in an effort to raise more funds for Helping Hands by matching the $10,000 donated by the community.
U.S. Air Force Airman 1st Class Nathan S. Holloway graduated from basic military training at Joint Base San Antonio-Lackland, San Antonio, Texas. Holloway is the son of Neil and Jenniffer Holloway of Dallas, Ga. He is also a 2017 graduate of East Paulding High School, Dallas, Ga.
Earlier this year, students of Mr. Rodney Tumlin's AP Environmental Science classes paddled a 4-hour section of the Etowah River from Cartersville to Euharlee. Students were able to see wildlife, farms, riparian areas and plant Bowen, the single largest coal-fired power plant in the south-east.
W. C. Abney’s annual Christmas Chorus program and Toys for Tots toy drive were a huge success. Our chorus performed at our PTA meeting and again the following morning for the entire school. Annual Toys for Tots toy drive collects over 430 new toys!
Paulding County Farm Bureau (PCFB) was recognized as one of the top county Farm Bureau programs in the state during the organization’s 80th annual convention held on Jekyll Island Dec. 3-5.
