Paulding E-911 received a call from a male complainant reference a domestic dispute with shots fired at 32 Holland Court Dallas, Georgia 30132 (Twelve Oaks Subdivision). The complainant advised 911 operators that he was at the residence visiting with the female homeowner when another male came in and pointed a gun at him.
State Rep. Micah Gravley R-Douglasville, whose district includes parts of Douglas and Paulding counties, was the keynote speaker for the Chamber’s August luncheon event. Gravley spoke about his years-long quest to pass the Hope Act, which allows registered patients in Georgia to obtain medicinal THC oil.
The Paulding Chamber of Commerce held a ribbon-cutting for Easy Walk Foot Clinic on August 12th. The clinic is located at 5604 Wendy Bagwell Pkwy., #311 in Hiram. Dr. Azuka Nwaedozie (“Dr. N”) has dedicated most of her life to giving back to others and serving her community in the medical field. Dr. N graduated from The New York College of Podiatric Medicine in New York City.
Missy Cusack of Chattahoochee Technical College and fellow Rotarian introduced 2 of 4 students Julie Mullenix and Rich Omari who are Rotary scholarship recipients and are attending Chattahoochee Technical College. The Paulding Rotary Club gladly continues to provide scholarship assistance to local students furthering their education.

The Dallas Police Department received a $5000 grant from Norfolk Southern Railroad. The money will be used to purchase outer bulletproof vest carriers for our officers. With the new carriers, officers will be able to lighten the load of their duty belts.
Paulding County commissioners were set to hear from the public for the final time this week, prior to taking a vote on a proposed property tax increase for their 2020 budget after cutting millions from the chairman’s original spending plan. A public hearing on the increase and 2020 budget was set for Tuesday, Aug. 13, at 9 a.m. at the Watson Government Complex at 240 Constitution Blvd. in Dallas.
Truth in Nature, a 501c3 non-profit organization will be adding a second chapter for its outdoor mentorship and ministry programs for fatherless boys in fall 2019. Truth in Nature has grown its reach locally in the Dallas, GA community to now have the need to expand its programs to host 2 mentoring weekends per month at the Dallas Camp Facility.
Deputies with the Paulding County Sheriff’s Office have been teaching the Drug Abuse Resistance Education (D.A.R.E.) curriculum in Paulding County since 1993. As most people remember, D.A.R.E. began in Los Angeles, California as a partnership between the Los Angeles Police Department and the Los Angeles Unified School District to help find a way to keep kids off illicit drugs.
