Carroll EMC received national recognition at the 2019 Spotlight on Excellence National Awards program during May, sponsored by the Council of Rural Electric Communicators (CREC) and the National Rural Electric Cooperative Association (NRECA). The Paulding County Veterans Monument was rededicated at its new location in Veterans Park on Memorial Day. The monument was recently moved from a small park behind the Winn Building where it has been located for the past twenty-five years. The local American Legion, Post 111 in Dallas, requested that the monument be moved from their property to a more visible location in Veterans Park.

Truth in Nature is a volunteer program to help young men growing up without a father or in a single-parent environment. Many young men in middle school or high school are growing up in our society without a positive male role model. The strain of being a single parent leaves little time to communicate with and provide that role model which is so desperately needed in these young men's lives.
Richland Creek reservoir site engineers conducted the second round of tours of the water treatment plant (WTP), intake, and Dam last week. A tentative third round of tours is planned for this fall as the reservoir begins the process of drawing water, a prescribed process that will take about a year to bring to full pool, Comstock said, but water will begin coming into the treatment plant sooner than that.
